About The Shop
Santos Bike Shop is a locally owned business in Ocala Florida, located right on the famous off-road Santos mountain biking trails. We deal with everything bicycle-related from selling to renting to repairing, not to mention riding them too!
The shop first opened in 2001 by the Phelps family, of which Mike is still with the business today as our head mechanic. Because of our location, our strengths are in off-road bicycles but we also have a strong following in road and triathlon riders.
What we believe in:
Our customers and their bikes come first. We are all avid riders at Santos Bike Shop, whether it’s road or off-road (most of us ride both). We have all gained something from cycling and we are passionate about giving it back to the community! That passion is the foundation of the business and the reason we give to every customer the same excellent service that we would expect if it were our own bicycle.
Interesting facts about the shop:
- The business was originally located just across the road from where it is now. The shop moved in 2013 to its current location where we enjoy more ceiling space whilst keeping our trail access.
- The old building was a pawn shop before we moved in. The new building was a motorcycle workshop.
- The shop sold Specialized bicycles for a long time but now mainly sells both Cannondale, Giant, Santa Cruz and Scott bicycles.
- We have had some famous customers in the store including John Travolta and Don “Big Daddy” Garlits.
